I made this in Ceramics Club, the outside color is a matte turquoise and the inside is white. I should have pulled up the bottom, or thinned it out a little more, but otherwise I like it.

This took me a couple hours to finish with all the different shades and then the many times I redrew parts of it. First I started with setting up my new easel, gathering paints, and all of that good stuff. Then I found the picture I planned on using and started a sketch of it. I began painting the head, which took the most time because it was many different colors and shades of blacks and grays. I went back in with a sponge after to create the scales, for lack of better words. I painted the neck next and then went onto the eyes and tongue. If I were to paint this again, I would bring some of the grays down into his neck more because it looks gray and then just stops and becomes black. Overall, I was quite proud of this. I made it for my Momma, she is in love with Toothless. Using acrylic and watercolor, I painted a simple fall landscape. I used different shades of orange, brown, green, as well as blue. I really like the pumpkin and for the most part the tree but I'm not a huge fan of the leaves. I think because they look similar that it just looks off to me., I believe you can still tell that they are leaves and that it's mostly just that I am overly criticizing my work. I learned to take my time and not to begin to rush through drawing or painting. I noticed I spent plenty of time on the pumpkin but not as much when it came to the leaves and the background. I started with a fairly detailed sketch and then moved on to the paint. I think I may have added to much paint to some spots and not enough in other places but overall I thought it looked alright. October 23, 2014 Tools: I used a regular pencil to sketch Loki and then I used paints, both water color and acrylic. Loki Silhouette Picture from the Internet: I used this for proportions and shapes. Medias: Sketching, Painting What skill did you strength, or what did you learn? I think that by drawing and painting this I strengthened both of those skills. I still think I should add more of a variety to my drawings and paintings though. Tools: I used a regular pencil to sketch the owl and the I use paints, both water color and acrylic. Night Owl Picture from the Internet: I used this for proportions and shapes. Medias: Sketching, Painting What skill did you strength, or what did you learn? I think that by drawing and painting this I strengthened both of those skills. I still think I should add more of a variety to my drawings and paintings though. Tools: I used a graphite pencil, H and 2b. I also used a picture from the internet for reference. Giraffe sunglasses Picture from the Internet: This was used mostly for reference so that I could draw the Giraffe more proportionate. In other words, the head wasn't gigantic compared to the body or visa versa. Regular Tools: This drawing was done completely in pencil, a darker one for a nicer sunglasses shade and a lighter for the actual drawing. Medias: Sketching, Drawing What skill did you strength, or what did you learn? I think that by drawing this I was able to make my pencil drawing skills stronger. I learned that Giraffes were actually really easy to draw and fun. I learned that I need to add more of a variety to what I draw, meaning I should start drawing cartoons, realistic portraits, and I also need to work more on paintings. Tools: I used number 2 pencil, colored pencils, and a sharpie also a picture of a cartoon dog for reference.
Colored Pencils: I mostly used different shapes of brown and a little bit of black and then a purple and blue color for the background. Cartoon dog Picture from the Internet: I used that to have a reference for the shape of the body. Regular Tools: The number 2 pencil was used to sketch out the dog and from there I colored it. Medias: Sketching, Drawing What skill did you strength, or what did you learn? I strengthen my skill to use color pencils. I need to work more on drawing realistic animals though, although the Cartoon ones are fun I need to expand my art profile. It was really fun to draw though, and I liked how simple it was. The eyes, I think I made mine look terribly sad. I think that I should have darken some of the areas more so that it would show up when I took a picture of it with the Ipod camera. |
