My take on starting with drawing the skulls is so we get an idea of under the skin that might affect how the structure is and where things line up.
This a picture of me, taken by my Dad who is a professional photographer. It's not exactly a selfie, but I want it to look good and be easier to see clearly and draw. I learned that the middle of our face is our eyes. Most heads are roughly 8inches tall and the size of the side was just a little longer. There are about 2 parts of the skull. But there are little things, such as eye socket, jaws, nose bines, ears ect. The eye are the middle, nose is roughly between that, the lips are about 1/2 inche below the nose and the bottom lip is about an inch from the chin. The neck was... Under the head and started at your ears, and ended at your shoulders? The shape of the average eye is somewhat like a circle the eye lids go over it though make it appear like a sideways oval. To make an eyeball look glassy you would have to shadow and highlight it right, which I haven't mastered yet... When my teacher was gone we were supposed to measure our faces and draw ourselves. I didn't realize that those would be due the next day and I only wrote down my measurement, that's actually only how far we got, (which were roughly the same as everyone else measurements) and now I cannot find my measurements at the moment. The past drawings we've done have been the. chalk impressionist, the trees and the trees from the inside looking out. I learned how to use a vanishing point in order to create the illusion of foreground, background and middle ground landscape. I've also learned how to use every color but black, although I did use black for shadows and to make the trees stand out more by outlining the window with black. I've also learned to overlap, and make the color go a certain way based on the thing being drawn, such as the sky and grass. I can also indicate the plane the picture is resting on. And I've learned to unanchored my hand from the table.
I'd say that I should get a 25/25 because I've tried to do everything in the rubric and some things I got others and others I need to work on. On the freshman campus, and the main, all the doors are painted red and most have those tiny windows. From one of my classes, I remembered being able to looking that window and see the trees..
