The general or basic idea:
Pending Coffee is a charity originally from Italy, that in certain coffee shops, let's say its two people, they go in and order 7 coffees pay for all of them but only leave with two. A homeless person can then come in and ask if there are any pending coffees, if they are they get a nice drink. Whereas the business still gets the money and the homeless person gets a drink, but to expand on this I would also want to be able to do pending food.
Not only would it have coffee and food, it'll also be considered a book nook. With books of different genre on wooden bookshelves, with the comfy cushioned seats beside a table where the drinks would sit. I'd trust that they wouldn't ruin the books, and be extra careful. I would hope that I'd be able to trust the customers not to ruin these books.
It'd have a home away from home feel, one where you are comfortable. Not that corporation kind of feel, it'd be family owned and close friends, even new friends.
There would be no metal stairs if I could help it, if there were to be stairs they'd be wooden. It'd either be carpeted, but since that's difficult to clean.... maybe wood.
In the center, or off in the corner there may be some computers... for anyone to use. They'd just have to come get a Log In which would probably change each week unless they had a library card. It would be a place were people could come and study, or hang out with friends around a good book or cup of coffee, or just hang out.
I'd probably need to take Creative Cooking and some Business classes to be able to do this, if I got a loan from the Bank.

What might it look like?
It will be a fairly big "store", most likely an upstairs area as well. If the design will allow it, it will appear to be an inside balcony. By this I mean there are wooden stairs leading to the top floor that wraps around but is not like a second level. This layer will hold more wooden bookshelves with comfy chairs, such as cushioned seats, bean bags, and possibly a few desks depending on how much space is available. It could be possible to have it so that one floor to be the coffee shop and the other be the book store. I feel like that might help with the sound, I know some people are very chatty with their coffees and others want it quiet to read.
Back to the first floor, when you first walk in it appears to be a fairly opened space. That area in front of you when you first walk in would have the majority of the tables and computers off to the side, out of the way but still visible by the barista. To your left and right is a few tables with seats, possibly a few book shelves.
The area where the food, drinks, and etc, is prepared would be more towards the back but when you walk in you can look up and see straight a head that area, behind that would have to be the kitchen where the goods are made. Assuming that the cookies, fudge, cake pops, and other bakery goods are hand made... even if that means waking up even earlier in order to do that.
It would also have a fire place, I love those. It would be a nice place to sit, read a good book, and drink your drink.
There would be a few seats outside, and a dog water bowl. I know many people don't let there dogs drink out of it because they are not aware of what might be in there. I could still put one out there for those that do drink out of them and would fill it constantly with fresh water.
What is the atmosphere? The feel I want it to have?
I would hope that it is a very welcoming, friendly, and family or close friends atmosphere. If it was a welcoming, friendly, and family or close friends atmosphere it would be an easier place to go and probably have more business which is great. I'd hate for it to have that corporation feel, it seems so impersonal. I know some days that people would much rather have a business coffee shop because those that are personal seem to always want to have very long conversations when some days all you really want is your coffee and to get on with your day. I would take that into consideration when making it, it may not be one of those places to chat at the cashier but it wouldn't be one of those places that you felt you shouldn't say anything but your order.
Where did I get this idea?
This idea was elaborated on throughout the years, it started out as just wanting a Retro diner or a cute little coffee shop. I know that I've always wanted to have some kind of friendly coffee shop or Retro diner near me, some place I could go for a stereotypical movie experience, if that makes sense. I don't know, if by the time I am able to make these dreams come true, if there will still be kids who want those kinds of coffee shops or Retro diners.
Back to the idea, it started when I was very little. It was first an idea to have a Retro diner and then I was thinking about coffee shops. While online one day I came across the Pending Coffee shop idea, I'd never heard about this but I loved the idea and wanted to incorporate it some way.
Just imagine how much farther it could go, you never know how this might impact an individual. It may be possible for the coffee shop to thrive but also to help these people in need. I could even do more to try and help these people, I might be able to allow them to use the computer to look up placing that are hiring and make a resume.
I don't think it would be necessary for me to kick them out, if it was cold and raining they can come in and sit for while... or if it was extremely hot outside, they could come sit.
