This is a little bowl made the other day. It's glazed with a light blue color, supposed to be turquoise but might come out more as a light blue. On the inside, I added layers of white in a hope that it'll make varying shades of blue. It worked once and hopefully it'll work again!
Originally, I was going to put triangles all around the rim, then carve out and paint some more on the bowl itself. But, it took a while just to make two so I decided to make the bowl into a cat. I wasn't able to make eyes that I liked so I decided to go with a more "minimalist" style. I added two triangles for ears and then carved out a nose and whiskers. I forgot to take a picture before putting it on the shelf to be fired, but once it's out I'll have a picture. Since the way this was altered makes it look like a flower, that's how in going to paint it. The bowl has been glazed. If all works out, the inside should be a maroon/purple pink with white on top and yellow in the center. The outside of the flower will hopefully be either aquamarine or a turquoise type color. I liked the light blue color the glaze was but it might not turn out that way. This bowl has been fired but I didn't like how the glaze turned out so I'm going to try to re-glaze it. I wanted it to look more like a flower but the glaze didn't exactly show up how I wanted. This is the bowl before being fired for the second time. Hopefully it'll turn out more like I wanted. I just tried to make it a little more obvious that it was a flower.
