This is a landscape, it has trees, hills, and a mountain in the background. The sky took up majority of the picture, which was fine by me because I really like to make paint skies. The sky is a fade from dark blue to yellow, it has some orange and red in it.
You need to paint in the direction you wanted to go and I think that's the skill I used for this painting. At first the sky had basically streaks down it, but then I went back and added more color painting in a different way to get rid of the lines. I also used different brushes to get the different textures or looks that it has. Such as the grass, I used a fan brush or a very small brush.
I think color and value is the most emphasized element or principle of design in this work. The value makes the painting go back, to show the different layers (foreground, middle-ground, and background). There is complimentary colors in this (blue and orange), but most of it is different shades of blue-green. Another principal might be movement, it's supposed to move back to , as said before, show the different layers.
I think this is interesting to look at because of the movement, it isn't like rolling hills but it does look like there's some difference in layers.

A few closes up of the details.
