Originally, we chose a photo and drew it for a block print. But because of supply issues, we focused on texture and working with ink and pens which really helped our block prints. Our block prints now look more detailed instead of blobs of black and white.
I found it was really easy to use the pen's, they were calligraphy pens with the bottled ink.
Instead of just drawing the outline, we created an edge by darkening behind the motif. The motif in this case was a flower. I used cross hatching for the background as well as in the flower itself. I changed some things on the block print but this is basically what it'll look like.
I should have added in more stippling, which creates a light gray without actually drawing or using gray. I found it was really fun to draw with these pens and hopefully will be investing in these. I found it was easier to use than the ones I have and I didn't have to press as hard to get ink.

As you can see, I enjoyed drawing with the pens and had many doodles around my papers.
