This took me a couple hours to finish with all the different shades and then the many times I redrew parts of it. First I started with setting up my new easel, gathering paints, and all of that good stuff. Then I found the picture I planned on using and started a sketch of it. I began painting the head, which took the most time because it was many different colors and shades of blacks and grays. I went back in with a sponge after to create the scales, for lack of better words. I painted the neck next and then went onto the eyes and tongue.
If I were to paint this again, I would bring some of the grays down into his neck more because it looks gray and then just stops and becomes black. Overall, I was quite proud of this. I made it for my Momma, she is in love with Toothless.
