You'll notice that this picture is a different color and vibrancy than the others. That's because I added an affect on it in the app, BeFunky. I wanted the colors or strokes of the pencil to be seen and the different colors I used in the hair itself to be shown.

I used watercolors, so it's on water color paper. It's mostly just black and white with a few grays. This was done on Dec. 30, 2013. I call it Girl Slipping into Darkness, originally the arm going into the "darkness" was actually supposed to be resting against her head. I could not get the hand position right, so instead it looks like she's reaching into the "darkness". Her eyes are closed and to me this represents her not wanting to see what's there, not wanting to see what she's getting herself into. If could have figured out how to I would have made it look like her "essence" or soul for say was being "taken" away and what she was left with was practically a shell. One that moved with the crowd but never stood out. Maybe I could have achieved this by on the side with the bun I could have painted a rainbow or multiple colors. I could have made it look like the darkness was depression and she was slipping into it and behind her were words of hate. So, as you can see this picture could mean many, many different things. The Back story: A while back I had seen a photo of a chihuahua looking much like this one does. I thought it was humorous and adorable considering most chihuahuas do believe they are a very tough breed of dog. I must say though, the resemblance to Diego is uncanny. :) This was drawn on December 21, 2013. Tools: I used a variety of my graphite pencils, an eraser, and a picture for reference. Skills strengthened and improved on: The ability to draw a variety of subjects and shading. On the left is the picture I used to draw it, on the right is my drawing. And in case you're wondering the drawing I did is the teddy bear fighting off the evil monsters that hide under our bed and things of that nature and the little line over it like an inch from the sword is the force field that's protecting the little kid. In my opinion, teddy bears always made me feel safer for some reason. This was done on July 28, 2013. This is another picture I saw online and decided to draw. The kitty turned out fine until I attempted the feet, those I couldn't draw so I just made a boarder around the cat and left that out. This was done 12/19/13. We all know the Disney Princesses, this is Ariel the little mermaid. I drew her when I saw a picture drawn by someone else that I figured that I could draw too. zi used the graphite pencils, I forget which ones. This was done November 29, 2013.
My friend, Rachel, had drawn a pair of lips in black and white. When I home I decided to try and draw a pair myself. First I just used my graphite, I believe, pencils then decided to use the colored pencils that my Grandma bought for me over the summer to add some colors. Possibly make them.... pop more for say. My mom says that they look 3D. This was drawn 11/25/13.
This picture got really kind of, colored down for say. It didn't turn out as planned but its alright, for a starting practice I hope to get better at drawing rocks, waterfall and water in general. This was done September 14, 2013.This is also a really bad photo... So with this drawing I basically just quickly sketch something out with one of my darkest pencils because I was really was in the mood to draw something. I just didn't know what and so I just was like looking at this Bird on a journal I had and it was just I want to draw that and so I just kind of quickly sketch it out and then I was thinking well that's a lot of space left over. And the bird, it was looking at something and so I drew in a tree to take up most of the space, then I thought "man. I really want to draw a little chipmunk because its really easy but It's just like a sketch it's nothing serious and so I just wanted something into tree and put a chipmunk in it. This drawing was sometime at the beginning of the year and it only took make two minutes at the most. So, obviously I never got around to finishing this. But, I really like the way that the eyelashes worked out and I think it's a really good kind of try for that, I don't know if it would be for anything else. It was a picture that i got of the internet that had tears in it and was a reflection of someone walking away and I thought that was a really cool looking picture, and that it had alot of emotion and opinion in it, it was just a really good snapshot of a moment drawn by someone else. I wanted to try it but I never got around to finishing up. |
