Well, it didn't happen this week. I figure since it's just Monday that it'll be alright. My Dad has a brother, my uncle, and he's in the Army. Last Thursday, we went and saw him off, my uncle, Christian, is in the EOD part of the army. At least that's what it said on his uniform that he wore. It stands for Explosive Ordnance Disposal.
I didn't actually realize just how hard it was going to be to say "See you later!". My Mom realized just how hard it was going to be, and already had tears in her eyes. I didn't feel the tears until I gave him a hug, usually I don't get to see him all that often, since he's in the army he moves a lot. That made my throat feel filled with tears.
We were watching everyone load the bus to get going, I recognized this couple that was standing behind us, both in uniform holding a baby. They were both kissing it, and hugging, and holding it, My Mom was wondering who was going to take care of the baby if both of them were deployed. Only one left, that was the dad, it was really sad watching them. Especially when I noticed the mother rocking her baby, with a single tear rolling down her cheek. I'm not even kidding, or being overly dramatic, there was a legit tear rolling down her cheek. One of the other army girls came over and asked if she was okay and the mother shook her head no. She turned away and wiped her cheek on her shoulder. It was just amazing, my Mom said that she couldn't imagine doing this everyday.
